About This Porsche 911 Targa E

1973 Porsche 911 Targa

This 1973 Porsche 911E Targa appears to have been modified to create a Porsche that, though not stock, is a lot fun to drive. The current owner has no historical data on the car, but it appears that the exterior has been extensively modified. The solid, straight body has been fitted with what is commonly referred to as the mid-80s 930 Turbo look - a wide-body conversion with updated front fascia, wide front/rear fender flares and vintage Turbo Whale Tail however, it is not a Turbo. The Guards Red finish is in overall good condition with only minor blemishes. A Black leather interior has been refreshed and is also in good condition. Seat upholstery, dash, carpeting and headliner all present well. Sounds are provided by an AM/FM stereo system and the removable black Targa top has been cared for. The owner states that the engine is a 2.7L flat-six. The stamped engine number of 6272407 appears to confirm this and indicates that it was originally installed in a 77 Porsche 911S. We have no history of the engine and do not know if it has been rebuilt - however it does run fine and sounds strong. This air-cooled, naturally aspired powerplant is backed by a 5-speed RWD transaxle that shifts well. BBS-style 16 Gold alloy wheels mount Falken performance radials. If you are looking for a Porsche 911 driver that is at home on the street, consider this 911E - you may very well be impressed.
